What to Expect During Your Boudoir Session
If you’re feeling a little nervous before your boudoir session — you’re not alone! But here’s the good news: you’ve already done the hardest part by booking it. From here on out, your photographer (hi, that’s me!) is here to guide you every step of the way.
We’ll already have chatted before your shoot, so by the time your session day arrives, you’ll know exactly what to expect — and more importantly, that you’re in good hands.
Hair, Makeup & Chat Time
Your day begins with professional hair and makeup styling — which is not only pampering, but also a perfect time to settle in and connect. Feel free to ask any last-minute questions, go over anything you’re unsure about, or just get to know your photographer a bit better. This time is all about easing in and getting excited for what’s ahead.
Pro tip: bring inspiration photos for your beauty look! Whether you love a soft, romantic vibe or something bold and glam, visuals help your stylist bring your vision to life. I will put you in touch with your stylist before the session so you can ask questions and send inspo in advance as well!
Outfits & The Fashion Show
Before we start shooting, we’ll go over all of your outfit options in person. You’re more than welcome (and encouraged!) to try things on beforehand — a mini fashion show can be a fun way to confirm what fits and feels best. This is a great opportunity to get real-time feedback on how each outfit photographs, fits, and flatters.
I’ll always be honest about what looks amazing through the lens and can help you with any strap adjustments, clasps, or styling tweaks if you’d like assistance. (And don’t worry — I’ll always ask before ever touching you. Consent and comfort come first, always.)
During the Shoot: It’s All About Trust & Guidance
Let’s be real: showing up in lingerie and posing in front of a camera might sound totally out of the ordinary. That’s why your photographer plays such a big role in how your session feels. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe, confident, and celebrated.
Before we even begin, I’ll ask if you’re okay with hands-on help for things like outfit straightening or fixing hair. And once we start shooting, I’ll walk (and act!) you through every pose — I’ll never leave you guessing what to do.
You can always let me know if there's a pose you’ve seen that you'd love to try, or if something doesn't feel right. Your session should feel tailored to you. You’re in control of your boundaries, and you can choose to stay in your comfort zone or explore something a little bolder — whatever feels best for you.
Speak Up, Ask Questions, and Have Fun
Here’s the most important thing to remember: this is your experience. You should always feel empowered to speak up — whether something’s feeling off or you want to try something new. I’ve truly heard every question under the sun, and I’m always happy to answer anything that will make you feel more at ease.
A boudoir session is about more than just beautiful photos. It’s about feeling seen, strong, and stunning — exactly as you are. And when you’re supported, guided, and comfortable, that magic really shines through.
